The soft drop unloading system makes it possible to reduce damage to plastic preforms to a minimum during container filling, for preform handling.
The preforms produced during an injection cycle are collected on board the press. A flat conveyor belt transfers them to the hopper distributor/feeder which fills the preform container. The hopper is equipped with system for vertical handling.
The hopper, once it is filled with preforms, moves vertically downwards to reach the position, indicated by a specific sensor, where preforms can be released without causing damage due to the impact of the drop.
To reduce downtime, once a container is filled, the system can proceed to fill a second container prepared opposite to the filled one. The operator can proceed to extract the full container and replace it with an empty one without stopping system operations.
